Propaganda controls our minds, and for 40 years, we have been fed a certain propaganda behind which there’s plenty of money. We can even put some dates and places to such propaganda like the famous Mt. Peregrine meeting of 1947 organized by Friedrich Hayek, who later received the Nobel Prize in Economics (a propaganda instrument in itself). Then we have the famous but horrible literary work of Ayn Rand that so many people in power cite as the source of their current sociopolitical views. But the fact is all that together is a Mount Everest of bullshit, and as I was a scientist at one point in my life, I tend to believe in facts and empirical evidence. Well, let’s get to the point: the American education system sucks. If you have any doubt, you can conduct a survey yourself in any mall, and you’ll realize that the education system along with TV, movies, video games and other elements of propaganda produce mostly idiots. You’ll realize, of course, if you’re not an idiot yourself who is already desensitized against idiocy, the chances of which are very high given the fact that you’re a victim of propaganda too. But let’s go to the facts: Finland has the best education system in the world. How do you know? Surveys. Finnish students are repititively among the best. And…? First: there are not private schools in Finland; all education is supported by the state and it’s free. Second: they don’t pursue excellence; they pursue equity, and as a result, their students come out the best. Third: they don’t foster competition; they foster cooperation, and, let me repeat it for the sake of emphasis, their students come out the best. And yes, parents have the choice to send their children to the school they want, but here lies the difference, the Finnish state make sure that all the schools are the same. That’s what I call “equal opportunity”. And, yes, Finnish people pay high taxes, just like Americans used to pay when America was great. Give me facts, please, no more bullshit.
